Melissie’s journey with colour started when she was 4 years old. Her parents took her to a symphony concert and she was enthralled by the colours she saw when the music was played. She saw the most beautiful rainbows coming out of the instruments; they made her feel wonderful and she told her parents what she saw and felt. They said she was imagining it and that music could not make colours, people only listened to music. She never saw the colours again and developed an aversion to classical music, which to her had become dull and grey. She grew up in Central Africa and eventually her family moved to South Africa where she studied Psychology and Fine Arts. While studying Fine Arts she noticed how people changed when working with certain colours and had the desire to combine her two qualifications into some form of colour therapy. Her interest in colour increased when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Melissie suggested colour therapy to her then very sceptical mother. When the cancer had cleared, her ‘colour converted’ mother paid for Melissie to go to England and study to become a Colour Therapist.

During 2001 Melissie developed the Colourworks system. She energises the system with crystals – just as a crystal powers the quartz watch, this system has the added benefit of crystal energy. Melissie packs the bottles in a village called Stanford, less than 2 hours drive from Cape Town. This area is stunning with mountains and forests, and is near the Bay in Hermanus where the whales give birth in October every year. Melissie presents the international Teachers of Colour courses. She is a Reiki Master and a Regression Therapist which are just two of her many skills and qualifications. Philippa Merivale author of several beautiful books on colour has written a book called Colour Works. Moira was born in South Africa and now lives in Kingston Upon Thames, England. As a child she was highly intuitive and often told she was ‘over-sensitive and to think before she speaks’. In those days people did not know that her sensitivity and ability to know things before they happened were healing gifts, so they were put on hold. Moira studied acting, theatre and marketing. She was self-employed as a Business Advisor and Trainer specialising in both Corporate and Community projects. During 1997 she started to seriously re-awaken her mediumship and energy healing gifts and used them with her business skills to the benefit of her clients who went on to start successful businesses and made huge changes in their personal lives.

During 1999 she became ill and both UK and South African doctors failed to diagnose a brain virus. Her life was saved by a Doctor who used Kinesiology to diagnose the virus and prescribe the correct antibiotic just in time. His practice uses modern medicine with Kinesiology, Homeopathy and Acupuncture; this unique approach to healing inspired Moira to study therapies like Reiki and Colour. She now encourages others to look at the holistic benefits of mainstream medicine and alternative healing being used together. Colour Therapy is the bridge, it works for Doctors as well as Therapists. Anyone can use colour and it has a sound scientific basis that also appeals to our intuitive and spiritual sides.

Moira loves working with colour as it has the ability to go straight to the underlying issues we are not consciously aware of and allows us to change our patterns. Moira is often asked: Why is my business not successful, why am I bad at relationships, why do I struggle with money, why do I suffer poor health? All these things are programmed into our cellular memory, our DNA, and we are simply living them out according to beliefs handed down from parents, society and past lives. Colour not only diagnoses the source but helps to wipe clean the recordings so we can enter in new data, information that serves us to live happy, healthy and abundant lives.
Moira manages the UK Distribution Centre for Colourworks and assists Melissie with setting up Colourworks Centres across the world.
